Overview

The Doctor Visit Translator helps you understand your doctor visits by translating medical terminology into clear, actionable language. Paste your visit notes or describe what the doctor said, and get a plain English summary, medical term definitions, action checklist with priorities, medication explanations with side effects, test result interpretations, follow-up requirements, and questions to ask next time.

How to use it

  1. Paste your visit summary/notes OR write what you remember the doctor saying — include medications, test results, diagnosis, and instructions
  2. Select what you're translating: visit notes, prescription label, lab report, bill/EOB, or discharge instructions
  3. Optionally add your main concerns — what you're worried or confused about
  4. For medication interaction checks, add your current medications in the optional field
  5. Review your plain English summary, action checklist, and questions to ask next time

Example

Scenario: You left a doctor appointment where they said you have 'hypertension' and prescribed 'lisinopril 10mg.' Your blood pressure was 145/92. You're confused about what this means.

What you do: Paste: 'Doctor said I have hypertension. BP was 145/92. Prescribed lisinopril 10mg once daily. Need to reduce sodium and exercise. Come back in 3 months.' Add concern: 'Worried about medication side effects.' Select 'Diagnosis' visit type.

Result: You receive a plain English summary, definition of 'hypertension' and what 145/92 means, action checklist (HIGH: Start medication, MEDIUM: Reduce sodium), lisinopril explanation with side effects, follow-up requirements, and questions to ask next visit.
