Gentle Push Generator

Micro-challenges just outside your comfort zone

Micro-challenges slightly outside comfort zone, calibrated to current capacity. Achievable but slightly scary. Not aggressive motivation - gentle expansion. Celebrates attempts regardless of outcome. Growth without pressure.

Overview

Growth happens at the edge of comfort, but pushing too hard backfires. This tool creates micro-challenges sized to your current capacity - achievable but slightly scary. Success = attempting, not outcome. Gentle expansion, not forced change.

How to use it

  1. Describe your comfort zone
  2. State where you want to grow
  3. Set current capacity (low/medium/high)
  4. Get sized challenge with easier/harder alternatives
  5. Attempt counts as success, not completion

Example

Scenario: Comfort zone: You're comfortable texting friends but terrified of phone calls. Growth area: Social connection. Capacity: Medium.

What you do: Input exactly that.

Result: Gentle push: Call one friend for 5-minute catch-up this week. Why this size: Small enough to be achievable (one friend, 5 min, full week to do it), big enough to be growth (actual phone call). If too much: Voice message instead of call (still voice, less pressure). If not enough: 10-minute call or call someone you're less close with. Celebration: Attempting counts as success regardless of outcome. If you call and it's awkward, you still succeeded. If you don't do it: That's okay too - you're not required to grow right now.
