- DeftBrain's tools are free preparation tools, not professionals. Nothing here is legal, medical, financial, safety, or any other kind of professional advice.
- AI can be wrong — confidently. Verify anything you're about to act on.
- Use the tools like a decent person: for yourself or people you're helping, not for anything illegal or harmful.
- The service is provided as-is, and our liability to you is capped at what you paid us — which is nothing.
By using deftbrain.com, you're agreeing to these terms. The longer version below says the same things with the necessary precision.
What DeftBrain is
DeftBrain is a collection of free, single-purpose AI tools. You give a tool some information about your situation; it sends that to an AI model with instructions we've written, and returns a structured result. There are no accounts, and no payment. How your data moves through this is covered in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
Not professional advice
This is the section that matters most, so plainly: no tool on this site provides professional advice, and no tool creates a professional relationship of any kind.

- DoctorVisitTranslator is not a doctor, and its output is not medical advice or a diagnosis.
- Tools that touch money are not financial advisors, accountants, or tax professionals.
- Tools that touch safety or mental health are not emergency services, therapists, or crisis counselors. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line — not a web tool.
These tools exist to help you prepare: to walk into the lawyer's office, the exam room, or the hard conversation with better questions and clearer thinking. For any decision that matters, consult a qualified professional and verify what's load-bearing.
AI output can be wrong
Every result on this site is generated by an AI model. AI models make mistakes — sometimes subtle ones, delivered with complete confidence. We test and refine each tool's instructions, but we cannot guarantee that any particular output is accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for your situation. You are responsible for how you use what a tool tells you.
Acceptable use
Use the tools for their obvious purpose: getting help with your own situations, or situations of people you're genuinely helping. Don't use the site to break the law, to harm or harass anyone, to generate content that deceives people, or to probe, overload, scrape, or interfere with the service. We may block traffic that abuses the service; with no accounts, that's about all the enforcing we can do — or want to.
Your input and our output
What you type belongs to you. You give us permission to process it — that means sending it to our AI provider to generate your result, as the privacy policy describes. We don't store it and we don't claim any ownership of it. The results a tool generates for you are yours to use however you like: copy them, print them, act on them (carefully — see above).
Free, as-is, and subject to change
DeftBrain is free and provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. Tools may change, break, or be removed; the whole service may be modified or discontinued. That's not the plan, but a free service run by one person doesn't come with an uptime contract.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DeftBrain and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service — including anything you did or didn't do based on a tool's output. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us to use the service, which is zero dollars. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll note it here with a date, the same way the privacy policy does. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
