Virtual Body Double

A quiet coworking partner for solo tasks

An AI coworking companion that stays with you through a focus session — checking in, cheering you on, and helping you get unstuck. Pick from 6 modes (Deep Work, Sprint, Grind, Creative, Avoidance Buster, or Standard) and it adapts its whole personality to match. Like having someone else in the room, without the small talk.

Overview

Working near another person helps you focus — that's why coffee shops, libraries, and coworking spaces exist. Virtual Body Double recreates that effect digitally with a twist: you pick a session mode that changes your buddy's entire personality. Deep Work mode is a silent library companion. Sprint mode is a high-energy burst partner. Grind mode commiserates with dark humor. Creative mode never judges tangents. Avoidance Buster is extra-gentle for tasks you've been putting off. After each session, generate a shareable accountability card — a visual summary designed to screenshot and text to a friend.

How to use it

  1. Choose a session mode — each one changes your buddy's personality, check-in style, and ambient messages
  2. Enter your task — tap 'Split' to have AI break it into sub-tasks with time estimates
  3. Set duration, check-in frequency, environment, and mood
  4. Start the session — your buddy's greeting, tips, and presence all match the mode you chose
  5. Respond to check-ins, check off sub-tasks, use 'I'm stuck' for concrete micro-steps
  6. When done, generate an accountability card to screenshot or share with friends
  7. Save and repeat — past sessions show mode icon and offer one-tap repeat

Example

Scenario: You need to write a quarterly report but keep opening other tabs instead.

What you do: Mode: Avoidance Buster. Task: 'Write Q1 report'. Split into sub-tasks. Duration: 45 min.

Result: Buddy (extra gentle): 'The fact that you opened this tool is already a win. First step: just open the doc. That's it.' Sub-tasks appear as a checklist. Check-ins are compassionate, not judgy. When you tap 'drifting', buddy says 'That's totally okay — what's the next small thing you can type?' At the end, you generate an accountability card: '🌱 Avoidance Conquered — 45 min on a task you'd been dodging for a week.' You text the card to a friend.
