Gravity Well

A 90-day plan to pull someone into your orbit — before you ever reach out

A 90-day plan to naturally enter someone's orbit before you ever reach out. Not cold outreach — gravitational pull. Three phases: become findable, enter their periphery, make the connection natural. Ends with the exact first contact message, the timing condition, and the one thing to do today.

Overview

GravityWell is built on one insight: cold outreach fails because there's no warm surface. The solution isn't better cold messaging — it's eliminating cold entirely. By building proximity, visibility, and value over 90 days, the first contact feels earned rather than intrusive.

How to use it

  1. Describe the person you want in your life — their role, world, and what they're known for
  2. Select the relationship type — mentor, collaborator, investor, employer, client
  3. Add why this person specifically and what you genuinely bring to the relationship
  4. Follow the three phases in order — don't skip to Phase 3 early
  5. Use the first contact template only when the timing condition is met

Example

Scenario: Want to connect with a VC who invests in climate tech

What you do: Describe their focus, your background in climate research, why this specific person

Result: Phase 1: Get a byline somewhere in the climate tech space; build a public portfolio with a clear POV. Phase 2: Engage with their writing — add data, not 'great post'; attend one event where they're speaking. Phase 3: Publish original research touching their thesis. First contact: 'I wrote about [X trend] in your portfolio space — thought the data might be interesting.' Timing condition: they've engaged with something you published.
